Cover Smother: Oooh, A Shiny Wall, A Tiger and Spandex!

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Call me a little lesby but there is something mesmerizing about Maxine Nightingale's cover for her 1979 album, Lead Me On. While the title track is a little on the tame side with it's slushy pop-soul melody, the album cover is fierce and just rocks my face. While looking at this means I'm looking at Maxine's arse, the shiny aluminum background and the strutting tiger are what make me love this cover. Shame, I haven't heard this album but I'm afraid that it wouldn't live up to the sparkling in your face neon cover....
