Remember The Time: So Suave and Debonair

Say what you want about Johnny Gill (insert bad Eddie Murphy joke) but just cannot sing even as remotely well as him. Even if you took years of singing lessons and gargled everyday with pebbles and gravel, you would never ever reach the power of his vocals. True facts. This is a song that always jumps starts me into his 1990 self-titled album. "Fairweather Friend", penned by the always on point, Babyface, is a great little piece of New Jack swiing. Johnny sings the ultimate shit out of it (I especially love his little run of growls) and I had no idea there was a video for the song...where have I been? Johnny is working that fedora but him popping in on the girl while she's in bed is a little creepy...but I wouldn't mind having a guardian Johnny Gill saving me from dropping wine on people and being a dancing fool at an audition.
