Song Stuck In My Head: "Don't Wanna Break Your Heart In Two"

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Like a clairvoyant who can "hear the dead", music junkies like myself can "hear music" even in a silent non-audio environment. That's what happened to me during my Legal Systems class, while we were discussing lawyers salaries (which that monetary amount makes me slightly want to switch majors), this little ditty popped into my head most randomly and has stayed. The American quartet, BoyKrazy made a small smidge into the pop world around 1993 with their top 20, "That's What Love Can Do" and they were gone like a swallowed piece of bubblegum. Their kiss of death was possibly due to their one and only self-titled album being produced in the hands of Stock, Aiken and Waterman. These were the men behind the British 80's pop explosion, with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Bananarama and Sinitta as their patriarchs. By the time the mid-90's rolled around, that sound was stale like already been chewed gum, and with BoyKrazy, the album being quite a typical run of pop-house tracks, there was really no doubt, BoyKrazy vanished. Apparently there was some crazy soap opera fueled drama that led to the group's demise but aside from that the song...yea, I'm getting to the song now...is grand. Blaring synth horns and a chugging and infectious chorus possess it and it's just a saccharine sweet morsel of a pop-dance track. Oh...and it will get stuck in your head, and stay residence in there for awhile...hee hee

I miss overalls...I used to wear them like that, with one strap off...how lame, right?
