Will.I.Am Gives Us His Ode To Obama

Monday, November 10, 2008

Obama-rama has begun in music-dom as musicians and rappers alike have jumped into the studios ready to craft that perfect victory song for our President-Elect. In no time flat we'll probably be having a NOW That's What I Call Celebrating Barack Obama's Presidency compilation, but before that comes into reality...dig on Black Eyed Peas front man, Will.I.Am being one of the first to concoct a brand new song for the occasion. Mr. I.Am debuted his song, "It's A New Day" on Oprah this past Friday and might I say that it's quite good. It's energetic, inspiring and he gets a cookie for smartly weaving in some historical nods to our nation's pioneers such as, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. It's really quite refreshing to hear something very positive this early in the morning, let me tell you. Hats off to Will.I.Am for putting this together to show further support for President-Elect, Barack Obama (I can't wait for the "elect" to be omitted from that title come next year). On a rather similar note, a nod to Will.I.Am for breaking the rapper barrier that Oprah seems to have on her show...you know how she's kind of finicky with people of the floacist persuasion performing.
