Cover Smother: Anxiety (Get Nervous)

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Pat Benatar's 1982 album, Get Nervous is a pretty good little rock album, but the real show piece (aside from hit single, "Shadows Of The Night") is it's cover. For some reason, the frigid look of Pat's hair, her peacock colored eye shadow and that glazed Girl, Interrupted stare is just plain fascinating. Also I always found it clever how they crossed "Pat" into "Benatar" and "Get" into "Nervous". This picture is quite fitting considering that Get Nervous was the rock goddesses first foray into electro-synth pop rock...she had to look like an anxiety ridden new wave kid right?
