Raphael Spreads A Little Otis Styled Holiday Cheer

Friday, December 19, 2008

Raphael Saddiq has been on a roll this year. With three Grammy noms to his latest (and fabulous) The Way I See It appearing on the swarm of Best Of '08 lists, all is good in the realm of Raphael. On Wednesday, Raphael joined acts such as and Broadway singer and Pushing Daises star, Kristen Chenoweth (PD must NOT be cancelled!) and the Counting Crows for the Christmas In Washington special. Sadly, I missed the special because I was dragged into watching the god awful third The Mummy installment that night...but thank goodness for YouTube. What you will see is Raphael putting his soulful touches to Otis Redding's Christmas classic, "Merry Christmas, Baby" and the results are golden...but was there really any doubt? In other Saddiq news, Raphael has his sights set on touring Europe in 2009 (so all my European Adventures get ready!) as well plans to give a much needed helping hand to Fantasia Barrino's upcoming third album. This brother will not be stopped!
