Album Watch: How Does It Feel...To Have D'Angelo Back In '09?

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

It's a miracle! D'Angelo released an actual statement yesterday, and this statement isn't just any word spill, it's detailing his return to music. Cue the gasps and side eyes. Billboard reports that D is in the studio tweaking up the last bits of his as-yet-untitled comeback record. The good news is that he has an impressive roster of talent on board, such as Cee-Lo, Raphael Saddiq, Mark Ronson and Roy Hargrove...oh, and he's eyeing a duet of some sort with his Purpleness, Prince. Oh, and all of this will be unveiled when the album drops in stores this summer. Summer of 2009? Really? Huh...yeah right, and I'm Tina Turner. To further get folks salivating for the soul man's return, ladies and secure gents, their are claims that he's looking mighty fine, well, compared to how he used to look....and that he will be touring in the Spring. Cue another round of gasps and side eyes. So take me to Nutbush City Limits and let me be someone's "Private Dancer" because if he looks as good as he did in the historic "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" video as well as gracing a stage in the near future, then 2009 is shaping up to be a spectacular year.

  1. "Take me to Nutbush City Limits and let me be someone's "Private Dancer". You crack me up.

I have not heard about this, hopefully it's true. And if we could get another video like "Untitled"...um, yes please!

  2. This sounds like a very interesting project, I hope that this album materialises. Maxwell has been talking of his for a while now and we haven't heard anything about it, so let's hope this is different and then Maxwell decides to release his too.

And, I agree, we need another 'Untitled' video.
