Ciara Stuck In A Groove She Can't Get Out Of

I'm literally conflicted over this video. At present, Ciara stands frozen at the diving board. I can tell she wants to go and do a triple flip and dive right into the pool but something is holding her back. Alot of the songs that have leaked from her upcoming Fantasy Ride sound like that. They sound like they want to be good songs but they end up being lackluster demo wannabes. This is the case with Ciara's new single, "Never Ever". The song features an unimaginative use of an overused loop of Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes 1972 classic, "If You Don't Know Me By Now" as well as a bumbling growling bear known as Young Jeezy as the guest rapper. The song is bordered on being boring and too cute, but the video is another story as it boldly recalls a mash of about four Janet Jackson video concepts (name 'em if you can) and a recycled idea of Ciara's "Promise" video. As much as I want to like the video for it seamless blend of wicked dance moves in a mid-tempo setting, I just find Ciara caught in a mediocre rut that is getting me more uninterested by the minute.
