Album Watch: Seeing Double Vision With Prince

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Don the raspberry berets as Prince is to be releasing not one, but two albums by the month's end. His Purpleness has joined forces with Target to launch a box set of his two albums, LotusFlow3r and MPLSound, along with an album by his new protege, Bria Valente. While this sounds like this musical opus will bust your wallet at the seams...it's won't, as the whole set will be costing an affordable $11.98. Get out of the city! Now some fans might be shaking in their boots at the prospect of a two album set from Prince, as sometimes these sprawling 2 for one deals can be vanity projects in themselves. Or in short, these albums can be a complete mess of musical output. Still last year's leak of a handful of Prince tracks was kind of a sign that the guitar slayer isn't beating around the bush with giving his fans the best...but come March 29th, when the album set is released, we'll get to hear it and make judgements for ourselves. Speaking of giving his fans the best, Spinner.com reports that Prince's multimedia site, LotusFlow3r.com, is opening it's web doors for fans to experience streaming video of almost all of his concerts as far back as the 1984 Purple Rain days as well as listen to unreleased material and view live shows as they occur. *bucks out eyes* But there is a catch with this one...you have to pay a pricey fee yearly to access all of these goodies...eh, Prince won't be getting money from me for that, I got a tuition to keep up...
