Audio Vision: Lil' Kim and Cyndi Lauper Show 'True Colors'

Monday, July 20, 2009

Fan of wacky peanut butter and broccoli duets? Then this should be something to marvel at as Cyndi Lauper and Lil' Kim duetted at the Mandela Day concert over the weekend. Doesn't sound too off the beaten path, right? Well, let me throw in that the two did a trade-off of sorts during the performance. To begin, Lil' Kim sung some verses with Cyndi to her classic, "Time After Time" then Cyndi "rapped" to Lil' Kim's "Lighters Up". Yes, you're reading correctly...Kim did some singing and Cyndi got her raptress on. So was this all well in good? Well, check the vid to form your own opinion but as for me...well, Kim tried and I give her that. Yet, I'm quite puzzled as to why Kim was chosen to sing-along, as Alicia Keys was in attendance that night as well...hmmm. Yet the real creamy nougat center of this performance is Cyndi shouting "sling crack, weed and powder" with such unabashed force....that right there made my whole week...
