Remember The Time: Rock Me With That Tender Dance

Ooo...Shall we ease into the week with some Babyface and Tamia? I have such fierce love for Quincy Jones's collaborative efforts where he invited a slew of famous voices/personalities to be on one solitary record. While Jones's The Dude and Back on The Block get more recognition, the eclectic artists on 1994's Q's Jook Joint were much more impressive to me. The lone single, "Slow Jams" dripped with Babyface production appeal, and while the album version features 'Face and the ladies of SWV sharing in romancin' fare, the video features a fresh-faced Tamia looking mighty Velma Kelly in a crisp bob. In fact, Q's Jook Joint was the Canadian songbird's recording debut, as she sung on the album a thundering rendition of Mica Paris's "You Put A Move On My Heart". Leaning on 1940's suaveness and glamorous, 'Face and Tamia take us into duetting bliss. Whew...some hot stuff...maybe even too hot for your Monday morning. Hmm?
