First Impressions: We Know What To Not Get Erik Hassle

Monday, August 10, 2009

Erik Hassle and his red curly coif have been keeping pop people on their toes as he's been the talk of the town over in his native Sweden. Now he's planning to take the UK by storm as he's bringing his harmonious soul/pop touch to the masses with his single, "Don't Bring Flowers After I'm Dead". While the title sounds a tad morbid, the music is total opposite of the fact. Grinding guitars punch through the melodic chorus that contains a slicing keyboard chord. The lyrics are insanely clever as they echo the notion that we should "save your givings for the living instead". Some deep rooted stuff but with such a flair, you won't even notice the undertone. If the original track wasn't grand enough, the track has been refashioned to feature the illustrious MPHO, and she gels extremely well with Hassle's croon. Two promising rising starlets on one track is sure to make your head spin around with ecstasy... so hold on tight as you prepare for a seriously superb sound!
