Artist Watch: Green Tea Is Not Only A Drink, But A Singer Too

Reason #67 why I love my fellow blog affiliates: They never fail to educate me with new sounds and voices. Once again through Sexy Never Left and SoulUK, I've found another fresh voice to put on my radar and get excited about. The DC native, Green Tea has a soul quality as sweet and crisp as her name...and yes, is therapeutic as the brew too. Music therapy she is, as she blends in Southern soul sounds with jazz, Blues and little folk, to create music that is for those who like a good rounded mix of sounds. Green Tea isn't a new face around the underground soul scene as she has had two albums already in the bank, and its embarrassing how I've been sleeping on her, as she is exactly the type of new artist I like, one who does the independent thing, has a lovely toned voice and one with a cool name that just evokes curiosity. Below is the video for "Sweet Georgia Brown" a track that is off of Green's latest effort, 2008's Dosage II: Choices, that recalls breezy summer days, you know the ones you've been trying to hang on to since school started...dig on this.
