Audio Vision: Raphael Gets Acoustic At The 'Tiny Desk'

Thursday, October 1, 2009

How about some sweet acoustic sounds from Raphael Saddiq to begin your Thursday morning? I thought that might getcha pumped. The guitar strapped soul sojourner was recently featured on NPR's web show, Tiny Desk Concert with accompanist guitar player, Rob Bacon, and churned out a few cuts from his remarkable 2008 effort, The Way I See It, all while being wedged in a compacted space. Him being scrunched up in that space recalled ancient memories of my desk in the dorm my freshman year of college, and boy, those neck pains still haunt me. Even though he's limited of space, he still sings and swings a mighty sweet set consisting of "100 Yard Dash" and "Love That Girl". So get your coffee, tea, vodka, whatever drink you fancy in the dawn, and soak in the sounds of Saddiq to get your day off right.
