First Impressions: Kylie's Impromptu New Song Drop

Monday, October 5, 2009

As I continue to pout over not being able to see Kylie Minogue embark on her For You, For Me tour in the US, there is some sunshine streaming through the clouds with the vocalist debuting a new song while prancing on stage in garb fit for Judy Jetson. During her opening night in San Francisco, Kylie unleashed a brand new song entitled, "Better Than Today", a new track that the Aussie Diva noted to the cheering San Francisco crowd that it is to be on her next album. New album? Well, that sounds magically delicious, Miss Minogue! From what can be heard through this fan made video (see below), the song is pretty good, typical Kylie pop fodder, though the vocal phrasing oddly sounds like "Still Standing" from 2004's Body Language, but maybe that's just me. Yes, the video is on the crap level, but hey, its something!

  1. it's very Olivia Newton-John/Sheena Easton. i like it. i'm sure the production will be amped up on the studio cut.

  2. She did this last night when I saw her in Chicago. I like it as it doesn't compromise her electro groove, which she is fond of, but also has some live instrumentation thrown in there for good measure.

    I love it!-QH
