Audio Vision: Ready...Set...Go, Szjerdene
Tuesday, March 13, 2012
Since we had to 'spring forward' an hour this Daylight Saving Time (one of the most pointless things in Western culture, IMO) I've been quite off-kilter this week. Losing an hour in a day, is like losing time for me to squeeze in every writing project, and every new sound that comes my way. To help me adapt and adjust, thank goodness for Szjerdene and her soothing and winsome performance for the Station Sessions at St. Pancras International. "Go" is sorta-new, but it's new to me, and the lush delivery of Szjerdene's tone has no doubt calmed my nerves tremendously.
"Go" is slated to be on a fresh project, The Patchwork EP, which will be arriving in the very near future (try March 27th!), and what a way to introduce it. It's a real treat to hear and see this performance in a space like the St. Pancras International railway. We've heard other subway/limited setting displays, where an every-day setting is transformed into a intimate vessel of sound, and Szjerdene and her band really does something special with this.
...and who says music can't take you places?
