First Impressions: Keepin' Up With Ayah and Slakah the Beatchild
Monday, April 9, 2012
Was not expecting this...It's nice to come back from a holiday weekend and start the week off right with some crisp sound lettuce, and thanks to Ayah and Slakah the Beatchild, Monday has become much more appealing. Ayah (whom I adore), has teamed up yet again with Slakah the Beatchild for a moody deep House number that relaxes but also bounces along in a nice fervor and then switches personalities as it drives along for nearly nine minutes. It didn't take me but two seconds to fall in love with "Keep Up"---and I seriously think that that is a record in itself for me. So yes, it's that good. No word on if this is some future full project on the come-up, but the Toronto natives are always doing something (see Sandie Black---mystery solved) so who knows where this is going to go? I cross my fingers for a deep House album full of stuff like this---but I should stick to smaller dreams.
This is also a purchase you can do on a whim (it's only a measly $1.50 over on their Bandcamp page) and a track that just feels so right that you can slip right into it. Don't believe me? Then just click on the player below and be transported. It's nine minutes you'll thank them for.
