First Impressions: Little Boots Sees The Future, Says A Prayer
Tuesday, April 24, 2012
Well, this is more like it.
"Shake" didn't cause much friction for Little Boots (albeit it's a decent slice of dance fever), but maybe the newly minted "Every Night I Say A Prayer" will erupt better---at least I sure hope it does.
The UK singer/songwriter has often been left out of conversation whenever we're discussing electro-pop darlings, but with this little rocket in her pocket, La Boots may be able to elbow her way to the fore front. Viciously 90's House (gotta love that persistent piano!) and produced by Andy Butler of Hercules & Love Affair, "Every Night I Say A Prayer" is just itching to be lauded as it romps around in a nostalgic dance floor flair that sets the tone for the impending follow-up to 2009's Hands. No word on when that album will dropped, but I sure hope this sound sticks around for Boots as it give her a lot of room to really breathe and emit some pop smarts. I can see her sharing a space with the likes of Sophie Ellis-Bextor or Roisin Murphy with this. Not too cluttered, and not too abstract, it hit right it needs to be and to be honest, it's the best thing she's done since "New In Town".
Also the track is for free...score.
