First Impressions: JoJo Gives A Demonstration Of R&B...The Proper Way
It's apparent that JoJo has a Mary Poppins bag of songs, because she just keeps pulling out tunes left and right. A bottomless pit her catalog is with most of it (if not all) has yet to be heard. JoJo has always been someone who has kept a strong audience by this mystique of loosely released material, and every time she drops a joint, it's like she dropping crumbs to lead us to the bigger prize ahead or something.
As we await Jumping Trains, her long-awaited third album that is being planned for a release this year, JoJo gives us some pillow talk to soothe the situation by way of track, "Demonstrate". Straight-up R&B with all the sexual heals intact is what flows out of this number, and this is the type of slinky R&B number that reaches back to it's golden age (or Ciara's "Promise" if you have a good ear). You have Drake collaborator, Noah "40" Shebib to thank for the vibe and if this would get the proper care---this would be filling the airwaves in no time.
Alas, JoJo has always been erroneously negated to underrated status, when in fact her vocals are above a lot of her peers. Just listen to the riffs she takes at the end of this track to hear what I mean. I wasn't all that keen on the last couple of JoJo cuts that dropped last year ("Disaster", "Sexy To Me") but when JoJo gets a bit naughty and turns up the slow burns, I'm all ears.
