Audio Vision: Funkineven & Fatima Pick Up The 'Phone Line'

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

1500th post!

What a hot lunch jam this is. Kinda, sorta stumbled upon Londoneers Funkineven & Fatima and their track, "Phone Line" the other day and was impressed with the stuttering and snotty little New Waver/Mutant beat that they had going on (feels sort of Vanity 6 a la "Drive Me Wild" in intent). At current, they are toting around their vivid kool mo dee video, a video that feels as if cult classic flicks Valley Girl and Krush Groove mated somehow. All very choice it is. The duo have released their debut EP of the same name on Eglo Records, and it's like so totally 80's. In addition "Phone Line", take "90's" for spin as it lives up to it's title, and "East To West" would be something that Arthur Baker or Jellybean Benitez would be proud of. You can experience and purchase the EP here.

...and by the way, love the nails.
