First Impressions: 'Howl At The Moon' With Jack Davey
Slipping and sliding Miss Jack Davey slithers all over the floor and on your face with new solo joint, "Howl At The Moon". After giving us (good) dizzy spells with New Designer Drug as 1/2 of J*DaVeY , the Cali lass is on the solo tip this time out and this self-produced mutant rocker gives expert notice to the eclectic being that is Miss Jack.
Borrowing a drum hook from Iggy Pop's "Nightclubbing", "Howl" has Jack Davey slipping into a deep crevasse of some serious seedy rock-funk that channels the sticky sweet come-ons of Betty Davis (aka one of the original madames of badassery). Considering the music war path J*DaVeY have been on it's no surprise that Miss Jack is into bending the rules and playing genre hopscotch. "Howl At The Moon" is a taste of what is to come from the electronic garage rock project called Lo-F!, a project that she will be springing on us in near future. So watch this space as there will be more 'howling' to come.
Man, whatever avenue Jack Davey decides to take me on, I'm there...especially if she's going to pull out bad ass little songs like this one.

ReplyDeletethanks for the heads up
It sure is! I'm anxious to hear what she's got cooking next. I always admire someone who throws out the rule book.
DeleteOooh yeah Jack White! I hear that too. O/T: Still trying to get into Blunderbuss...I really like "Love Interruption" though.
