Audio Vision: Andy Allo People Pleases

Thursday, November 8, 2012

So yeah, I've been waiting for this.

Waiting for Andy Allo to release "People Pleaser" and its accompanying visual --- and disappoint, she does not. I'm pretty much just reiterating what I've already gushed and gabbed about, but this is just so total sass sauce that I can't help but marinate myself in it for a second, third, maybe fourth time. With the New Power Generation on the back-up, solo serves by Maceo Parker and Trombone Shorty, Allo piles on some serious 21st Century Funk with her super cool and stylish repertoire, and the finished product just ignites. It seems like just the other day I was gushing about Allo and her wonderful debut album, UnFresh, but that was 2009, and now in the '12 present it is all about Miss Allo soaking in her Prince protege glow and giving us funky good vibes on a track that crackles like "People Pleaser".

Superconductor, Allo's long-delayed, is-it-for-real-or-is-it-pure-fantasy second album now has a concrete release date of November 20th, and you best believe that that date can't some soon enough.
