Artist Watch: Rudimental
Tuesday, February 26, 2013
Londoners Rudimental are on the steady climb to making everyone remember their name as they keep on throwing heater after heater in anticipation for their self-titled debut album. I was completely swooning over their MNEK and Syron assisted, "Spoons" last year, and have since experienced the electro-shock dare dance of first official single "Feel The Love" and the Angel Haze guest spotted, "Hell Could Freeze Over", all of which have further raised brows and piqued interest on what this quartet is serving up in production wizardry.
Once again they throw another crackling fastball with new single, "Waiting All Night" which puts co-writer Ella Eyre and her high-charged vocals in the spotlight but also doesn't steer you away from hearing Rudimental's knack for crafting killer hooks as they encase them among frantic dance beats and peppered horns. Sweetness. April 29th is quite the long haul from now, but that is the touchdown date for the group's self-titled debut, and after taking in several tracks (and an abundance of remixes) I've already got some coins and bills set aside for when purchasing becomes option because I'm so there for this group of producing up-in-comers.
