Bonobo and Badu Take It To Heaven

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

Ironically, just the other day, I was engaging in a little Badu-a-thon, giving spins mostly to Return of the Ankh and taking it allll the way back to practicing some Baduizm, not knowing that the singer celebrates her 42nd birthday today. Huh. How's that for music psychic abilities? Even though I will never tire of all those classic albums Erykah Badu has graced us with over the years I always like to hear something new from her side of the street.

She's been taking to doing a lot of guest spots lately and she'll get to add work with super producer Bonobo   to her long list of collaborations. In a perfect future soul mesmeric, "Heaven For A Sinner" melds both Badu's bewitching guise and Bonobo's agility for textured beats together as it twinkles and gleams quite lovingly. The track is one of many that's to be on Bonobo's fifth album, The North Borders, which is geared for an April 1st release.

This came out a week ago, but you know me, finding things in my own space and time. Shouts to Pinboard for providing this shimmering track.
