Come Face To Face With Tawiah

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Consider me slow on the appreciation towards UK songstress Tawiah, who has already seized hearts with her intricate soul stirs, most notably, single, "Every Step". Tawiah has been kicking around for awhile being a supporting act on vocals, working with Mark Ronson, and released her debut EP, In Jody's Bedroom back in 2007. Now some odd years later, Tawiah is still on the hustle as she's releasing her long-anticipated album FREEdom Drop. Lifted from it is single "TEARdrop" which has already made massive waves.

Now I'm kind of a tough cookie, you know the ridiculously cheap kind you buy in the Dollar General, as I admit to not being thoroughly moved by the single (yeah, I know, I'm broken), well, I've now become a soft cookie, warming up to the charms that Tawiah spreads out as her new single "FACes" is a real beaut. Amid a cascade of jangling guitars Tawiah stays rooted as she navigates the intricate yet crisp arrangement set forth by her producing partner, Jodi Milliner. Even though the lyrics sketch out confusion, Tawiah seems to have her eye on the prize as this track is quite a moment for her.

"FACes" will be available for a free download on April 12th (Friday) in honor of International Day For Street Children/Street Child Africa, so mark the date and take heed to Tawiah and her point-of-view.
