Janelle Monae & 'Little Wing'

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

Yes, this happened two days ago, but it's never too late to get a healthy dose of some Janelle Monae, right?

Monae popped up on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Monday night to celebrate the posthumous release of Jimi Hendrix's People Hell & Angels. With The Roots as back-up and decked out in all black with her signature shiny red lips and tips, Monae blazed through a rendition of Hendrix's classic, "Little Wing". No shocker that she nailed it, diction, control, attitude, and all, proving what we already know --- that Monae is just simply a vocalizing beast. The only sad I have about this performance is that she didn't preview any brand new material, as I've been desperately needing a follow-up to the epic The ArchAndroid since, like, yesterday.

Still Monae, Hendrix, and powerhouse guitar work make everything better.
