Kilo Kish Gives It To Us

Wednesday, May 29, 2013

Jordan Knight's "Give It To You" is a great song. It truly is. It's magical. Written by Robin Thicke and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, it made my 1999 great, and maybe it made yours too, not to mention confirmed why Jordan Knight was always my favorite New Kid on the Block.

I don't know much about Kilo Kish except that she's got a few EP's out, and has worked with the likes of Coco O. of Quadron, SBTRKT, and Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover), but already I like her because she, along with producer Caleb Stone, decided to re-imagine "Give It To You" as a sexy-wexy slow jammy, taking things down a much moodier course complete with come-hither vocals from Miss Kish. Though the original is still king for me, this is a rather engaging alternative.
