Betty What? Betty Who? Betty Who That's Who

How dare I managed to miss this neon pop of an electric eighties feel. Newcomer singer/songwriter Betty Who taps on all of my synthesized senses and then some with her single, "Somebody Loves You", a fizzy pop jaunt that is pretty much an escapee from a teen movie soundtrack. From there her (completely free) four-track EP, The Movement made my acquaintance and is now a permanent fixture in my music rotation. A lot of EPs have floated my way this year, but The Movement stands out with New Wave crawls like "Right Here" and my favorite track, "High Society" being the song Duran Duran never did. Sue me for being a sucker for this kind of music, but Betty Who, who hails from Australia is on the verge of being a big deal as she is one of few (see Catcall, Ladyhawke, Friendly Fires, Dragonette, for similar compadres) who have brought the '80s back in a big way to the 21st Century.
