Oh I love a good girl power song and Oh Land has got one with her latest single, the sweet pop ditty "Renaissance Girls" trumpets about the joys of modern womanhood where women can be awesome no matter how many personas they might possess and ideals they might have. So if you thought this song was going to be about Margaret Tudor, Lady Godiva, Joan of Arc, and other divas of the Renaissance era, then you thought wrong.
The music video is just as perky as the tune, playing like a Funfetti layered cake of Electric Boogaloo-ness smooshed with Beyonce's "Single Ladies" as there is a lot of pop locking, ponytail pulling, and striking poses. Just that Oh Land recruits some adorable little girls to get in on the twitchy dancing fun, because you know children our future and Oh Land is just teaching them all the beauty they possess inside. Lots of fun the song and video are, though I don't recommend you try some of these moves at home so you won't sprain your neck, unless whiplash and getting a rush from yanking your ponytail is like your thing. October 7th is the due date for Oh Land's Wish Bone, and I'm looking mighty forward to it.
