Emily King Goes The Distance

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

For some calm, smooth driving, Emily King glides in with another aural love tome that manages to defrost my cynical lovelorn heart. "Distance" comes at a surprise as if you know King's track record, she is not one to rush things, as she hasn't made a peep since 2012's "Ordinary Heart" and it took almost four years before the gap was closed between her debut album, East Side Story to the Seven EP. So it's joyous to hear "Distance" and King still stroking with that tender hand, as she pens a soft and soulful lullaby for long-distance lovers. As a long-time fan of King, I hope that this won't be only thing she graces this year with, but you bet I'll take it along with the option to cop the free download.
