Florrie Sells Seashells By The Seashore

...and if you thought Florrie had some how found a way to drum up a modern take on the notorious tongue-twister then you're partially correct. With a new EP, Sirens, on the way this April, Florrie is back with "Seashells" a surging romp of synth-pop that chugs and churns like the turn of tide. It rides on minimal lyrics, but I find the arrangement interesting as it seems half-finished, but still is quite fulfilling. I especially like the little dip around the 1:15 mark where the track does clack along 'like a roller coaster'.

As much as the chanting chorus has the ability to grate the nerves, in Florrie's lithe vocal it bubbles charmingly like seltzer over its Middle Eastern-esque backdrop and its hard not to find yourself enjoying every repetitive moment as you surf along.

I don't know why, but Florrie's fizzy pop always seems to get me going and here is another classic case.
