Welcome To The New-ish Audio Diva!

Tuesday, April 1, 2014

Well, look who has gone and gotten all gussied up!

No, this isn't an elaborate April Fools Day joke, Audio Diva has gotten a remix so to speak and I couldn't be more excited for it! For the longest time I have been meaning to give this blog a fresh coat of paint, and though I have changed the layout from time to time (even recently) things always 'felt' under construction. Well, no more as you can plainly see. This decision didn't come easy. It may come as a surprise to my more loyal readers and even my new ones that over the last couple of years I lost passion for this blog and posts became less frequent and the creative direction for the blog just began to derail. I even thought to get rid of Audio Diva completely as consistent unemployment and bouts with depression made me feel this blog was a waste of time.

But I forgot something.

I forgot how much I enjoyed starting this blog six (!) years ago. I forgot how I enjoyed meeting all kinds of bloggers and gaining all new ideas. I forgot I loved sharing my favorite music with people. I also forgot how this blog helped me figure out that writing is exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life. Audio Diva was one of the best things that has happened for me (so far!) and I was treating it like it was a burden on my back when I really needed to be watering and feeding it and letting it grow along with me. So after knocking some sense into myself I decided to have a better attitude about it all and to get this blog back on track. And that's what's happening now.

Not much will change on the content front ---- reviews will be written, new videos and songs will be snarked and analyzed, nostalgia will be waxed, and Take 5 Friday will be in *cough cough* consistency --- but I hope to increase posting power and do more creative and fun things here that will keep you entertained and informed. I will be working on improving this blog and its content so excuse my creative dust for the next couple of weeks as I get my bearings and think and try out new things.

Speaking of creative things, I want to give a HUGE thank you and a warm hug to the wonderful and talented Rekita Nicole of Her & Nicole for this awesome sauce layout, Audio Diva's fantasmical new logo, and for being super patient with me and my barrage of questions and demands comments! She has made a design that is sooo much easier to navigate and even more so appealing to the eye that it has made this blog seem like a brand-new one --- and one you'll hopefully keep returning to whenever you need a break from the more ritzy music blogs.

So take a look around, let me know if you like it, but most importantly expect Audio Diva to come at you full force with even more adventures in sound starting now!
