Rochelle Jordan Is Keeping It 'Lowkey'

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

It's been some hot minutes since we've last heard from Rochelle Jordan, but she's gliding in cool, calm, and collected with the lounge out, "Lowkey". Keeping with her musical repertoire, she and her partner in producing crime, KLSH, capture the sultry vibe of Rochelle's muse Aaliyah, as she bathes her smoky croon in a deep wading pool of moody and astral synths. I also hear a little early Amerie sneaking in (it's the diction), but this is an Aaliyah revival through and through. Still, who cares? Rochelle owns this hell out of this sophisticated soul stream, and she clouds over imitators and wannabes of the new wave of insulated R&B with this impeccable stunner.
