I'm in Pharrell fatigue right now.
He's every.freaking.where. right now, in good light (his Apollo Theater concert) and in bad (war bonnet appropriation alert). You can knock the approach, just not the hustle, and Pharrell is hustling like the road runner on rocket fuel, and stop him you can't, he's on cruise control. Now along comes Disclosure who are about to disrupt that flow as they go way back, back into time, to give a little appreciation to what was "B.H." (Before Happy). "Frontin'" is ten years old (yikes) but it's still a good jam after all these years as it's the perfect slice of Casanova lounge-funk that Pharrell is a pro at slyly charming his way through. Today "Frontin'" has gotten all Disclosure-y, as its spun into a spiral of fizzy lifting synths and clap-trap percussion to create a high-fructose dose of Garage goodness. It's really delish. Refix your feet to your choice of dancefloor with this one.
